Official Launch into the NT

Last Friday, Deaf Services and the Deaf Society celebrated its Official Launch into the Northern Territory at our new office space in Darwin!

We were thrilled to be joined by Her Honour the Honourable Vicki O’Halloran AO, Administrator of the Northern Territory, The Hon, Kate Worden Minister for Disabilities, Deaf Services and the Deaf Society Board Chair Ralph Collins, and our CEO Brett Casey, amongst other distinguished guests.

Thank you to Aunty Jeanneen McLennan from Larrakia Nation for her touching Welcome to Country.

We were also privileged to witness 15-year-old Foni Clement present her beautiful poem in Auslan titled 'Sunset With My Family'.

It was wonderful to meet with community members and other service providers to continue the process of identifying and providing the supports and services most needed by the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Communities in the NT.

Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate this historic moment for Deaf, deafblind and Hard of Hearing community members in the Northern Territory!
